Chocolate Chip Blondies Recipe
Ingredients
- One egg
- One egg yolk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1
We’ll start the baking process by heating the oven to 350 degrees F. Then, line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and set it to the side. You’ll need it later.
Step 2
Find a large mixing bowl. In it, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar. Then, add an egg, followed by an egg yolk, and the prepared vanilla extract. Mix all of that in before proceeding to step 3.
Step 3
Find a separate mixing bowl for this step. In it, combine baking powder, flour, and salt. Then, add the wet ingredients from Step 2 to the dry ones and combine everything.
You’ll need to mix until there are no clumps in the flour mixture. Then, add chocolate chips to the mix.
Step 4
Now that the batter is complete, you can pour it into the pan we prepared at the beginning.
Step 5
It’s baking time! Place the pan in the oven for the next 25 to 30 minutes. You’ll know your chocolate chip blondies are done once they become golden brown and puff up. Though the middle may seem undercooked when you take the dessert out of the oven, remember that it will keep cooking during the cooling process.
Step 6
Once the blondies cool down, you can cut them into square pieces. Depending on how big you like your cookies, we suggest making 9 or 16 pieces with this blondie recipe.
Keep in Mind
Don’t Overmix
Overmixing blondies is a bad idea. So, we advise against it at all times.
The recipe is simple and pretty straightforward, so there’s no need to make this type of mistake. Only stir the batter enough to mix the ingredients, then proceed with the baking. This will keep your blondies tender and moist.
Use High-Quality Products
This is a no-brainer. Vanilla and butter are the main ingredients in this blondie recipe, and making sure you get the best available guarantees you a better flavor of the final product.
These two ingredients can make or break the entire dessert, so pay attention to the ingredients you’re putting into the mixer.
Don’t Overbake
Overbaked blondies are not what we’re striving to achieve. Leaving these cookies in the oven longer than recommended leaves you with a dry dessert you aren’t trying to make. So, keep an eye on the timer, be around to double-check what’s going on with the crust, and always enjoy the best blondies recipe you can find.
